Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups flour
  • 4 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • ¾ cup butter cut in cubes
  • 2 eggs slightly beaten
  • ½ cup milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400° Fahrenheit.
  • Combine the first four ingredients and whisk. Cut the butter into dry ingredients with a pastry cutter or two knives. (This can be pulsed in a food processor, just don’t over-process.)
  • Add the eggs and milk. Thoroughly incorporate.
  • Shape dough into individual cakes on a baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, about 15-17 minutes.
