Ingredients
2cupsflour
2teaspoonsbaking powder
½teaspoonsalt
½teaspoonbaking soda
½cupbutter
½cupwhite sugar
½cupbrown sugar
2eggsseparated
1teaspoonof vanilla
3teaspoonswater
1package chocolate chips
1cupbrown sugar
Instructions
Sift together the first four ingredients and put to the side.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter with the ½ cup brown sugar and white sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks, vanilla and 3 tablespoons of water. Add dry ingredients ¼ at a time. Spread dough into a baking pan and sprinkle chocolate chips over the dough.
In a clean mixing bowl beat the two egg whites to soft peaks. Add the remaining 1 cup of brown sugar and beat to stiff peaks. Spread over chips and bake at 325°F for 30 minutes or until the meringue is light and browned on top and a knife comes clean out of the dough.
