Kay’s Boursin Dip

Prep Time 15 minutes
Course Appetizer
Servings 2 cups

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 4 cloves garlic crushed
  • 4 teaspoons dried basil leaves crushed
  • 2 teaspoons dried dill weed crushed
  • 4 teaspoon chives snipped
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ -1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients, except cream, in a bowl or food processor. Beat until smooth. Gradually add the cream until the dip is the consistency you prefer.
  • You can omit the cream all together to make a savory cream cheese spread.
  • I like to use fresh herbs if they are available. Double the amount of fresh herbs versus dried. I also like to add a bit of white wine and fresh lemon juice. It adds a bit of a kick to the dip period of course cayenne never hurts either.
  • Fresh herbs vs dried measurements
