cut lengthwise into 1/4 inch wide ribbons

Napa cabbage cut into 1/2 inch ribbons
1 medium head

shredded carrots

bean sprouts

cup
very thinly sliced scallions
green parts only
salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Instructions
in a large bowl, whisk together the fish sauce, vinegar, pepper flakes, basil and sugar. Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts and scallions and toss well.
Add some of the dressing and toss well. Season with salt and pepper to taste and set aside for a few minutes before serving.
Add more dressing if desired. Refrigerate the remaining dressing.
