Cream Cheese Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 3 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional:
  • pecan halves or Hershey kiss candies

Instructions
 

  • Cream butter and cream cheese; slowly add sugar, beating until fluffy. Beat in egg yolk. Add flour and vanilla; Mix well. Chilled dough for at least an hour.
  • Shape into one-inch balls; place on greased cookie sheets. Gently press a pecan half or kiss into each cookie. Candied cherries are also an option.
  • Bake for about 12 to 15 minutes.
