Bacon and Water Chestnut Tidbits
Kay's Red Cookbook circa 1970's
- 1 can water chestnuts
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¾ pound bacon slices
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
Preheat oven to 425°F. Drain water chestnuts, rinse in cold water and pat dry period roll each water chestnut and brown sugar. Cut bacon slices in half and wrap each half around a water chestnut and secure with a toothpick. Sprinkle with soy sauce. Bake in shallow baking dish and bake, turning occasionally, until bacon is crisp, about 20 to 30 minutes. Drain and serve once.
