Stuffed Strawberries

Stuffed Strawberries

Ingredients
  

  • 20 large strawberries
  • 3 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 ½ tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon orange liqueur Grand Marnier, optional, or orange zest

Instructions
 

  • Dice 2 of the large strawberries into to small pieces.
  • With the other 18 berries, cut a thin slice off the stem end of the berries, forming a base for the berry to stand on.
  • Cut each strawberry in four wedges, starting at pointed ends and cutting to, but not through, stem ends.
  • Beat cream cheese at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy. Stir in diced strawberries, walnuts or pecans, powdered sugar and if desired orange liqueur.
  • Spoon or pipe about one teaspoon cream cheese mixture into each strawberry.
