Ma’s Hot Milk Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour sifted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 stick butter 4 oz

Instructions
 

  • Sift the flour and baking powder together.
  • In a large mixing bowl beat the eggs until fluffy. Slowly add the sugar until incorporated.
  • Mix the dry ingredients with the egg and sugar batter.
  • In a heavy saucepan heat the milk and butter until the butter is melted. Add this milk butter mixture to the batter.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Divide batter evenly between two 9-inch cake pans or three 9-inch cake pans, for thinner layers.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
