Ma’s Hot Milk Cake
Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour sifted
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- 1 stick butter 4 oz
Instructions
- Sift the flour and baking powder together.
- In a large mixing bowl beat the eggs until fluffy. Slowly add the sugar until incorporated.
- Mix the dry ingredients with the egg and sugar batter.
- In a heavy saucepan heat the milk and butter until the butter is melted. Add this milk butter mixture to the batter.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Divide batter evenly between two 9-inch cake pans or three 9-inch cake pans, for thinner layers.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
