
Hoisin Pork Napa Slaw
Ingredients
- ½ cup fish sauce nam pla
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- ½ cup rice wine vinegar
- 1 ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 8 large basil leaves cut lengthwise into 1/4 inch wide ribbons
- 1 ½ teaspoons sugar
- 3 cups Napa cabbage cut into 1/2 inch ribbons 1 medium head
- 1 cups shredded carrots
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 1/2 cup very thinly sliced scallions green parts only
- salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Instructions
- in a large bowl, whisk together the fish sauce, vinegar, pepper flakes, basil and sugar. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts and scallions and toss well.
- Add some of the dressing and toss well. Season with salt and pepper to taste and set aside for a few minutes before serving.
- Add more dressing if desired. Refrigerate the remaining dressing.
