$10.00 Fruit Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 quart fruit (4 cups) sweetened to taste
  • Fruits such as Peaches strawberries, blackberries or apples may be used. Fresh Peaches are my favorite. And everyone fights for the chewy topping.

Instructions
 

  • Wash fruit and cut into slices, halves, cubes, depending on fruit. Heat in microwave safe bowl or over medium heat in a heavy saucepan.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Melt butter in the oven in a deep, high side baking dish. (soufflé dish)
  • In a mixing bowl combine the sugar, flour, milk, and baking powder. Mix batter until smooth.
  • Remove baking dish from oven, pour batter over butter. Pour fruit mixture on top of batter and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
