Ma Warings Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs separated
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 3 teaspoons water
- 1 package chocolate chips
- 1 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Sift together the first four ingredients and put to the side.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter with the ½ cup brown sugar and white sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks, vanilla and 3 tablespoons of water. Add dry ingredients ¼ at a time. Spread dough into a baking pan and sprinkle chocolate chips over the dough.
- In a clean mixing bowl beat the two egg whites to soft peaks. Add the remaining 1 cup of brown sugar and beat to stiff peaks. Spread over chips and bake at 325°F for 30 minutes or until the meringue is light and browned on top and a knife comes clean out of the dough.
