Shortcake
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 4 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- 5 tablespoons sugar
- ¾ cup butter cut in cubes
- 2 eggs slightly beaten
- ½ cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400° Fahrenheit.
- Combine the first four ingredients and whisk. Cut the butter into dry ingredients with a pastry cutter or two knives. (This can be pulsed in a food processor, just don’t over-process.)
- Add the eggs and milk. Thoroughly incorporate.
- Shape dough into individual cakes on a baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, about 15-17 minutes.
