Kay’s Boursin Dip
Ingredients
- 16 ounces cream cheese softened
- 4 cloves garlic crushed
- 4 teaspoons dried basil leaves crushed
- 2 teaspoons dried dill weed crushed
- 4 teaspoon chives snipped
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ -1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients, except cream, in a bowl or food processor. Beat until smooth. Gradually add the cream until the dip is the consistency you prefer.
- You can omit the cream all together to make a savory cream cheese spread.
- I like to use fresh herbs if they are available. Double the amount of fresh herbs versus dried. I also like to add a bit of white wine and fresh lemon juice. It adds a bit of a kick to the dip period of course cayenne never hurts either.
- Fresh herbs vs dried measurements
