Southern Maryland Crab Soup

Ingredients
  

  • Ham bone or scraps of ham
  • 2 cups finally cut potatoes
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 cups celery cut fine
  • 1 large onion cut fine
  • 1 tablespoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon time
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • ½ cup barley
  • 1 large can tomatoes
  • 4 Packages of frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 lbs of crab meat
  • ½ pound bacon cut fine and fried
  • 1 small bottle of ketchup
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • in a large soup pot combine ham bone, or scraps of ham, and the next 9 ingredients. Simmer for about 30 minutes. Add the frozen mixed vegetables and simmer for one hour.
  • Add crab meat bacon and ketchup.
