Turtle Brownies

Ingredients
- 1 14 oz. bag caramels
- 1 box German Chocolate Cake mix
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk divided
- ½ cup butter melted
- 1 12 oz. pkg chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Heat caramels and 1/3 cup of the milk in saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until caramels are melted, and mixture is smooth. Keep mixture warm over low heat, stirring occasionally.
- Mixed dry cake mix, butter, remaining milk and 1/2 of chocolate chips.
- Spread half of dough in ungreased 13x 9×2-inch pan. Bake 6 minutes; Remove from oven.
- Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips and nuts over baked layer. Drizzle caramel mixture over chocolate chips. Drop remaining dough by teaspoonfuls onto caramel layer, spreading evenly. Bake until cake portion is slightly dry to the touch; 15 to 20 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
